"Blue Christmas"

Hello, Friends!

Welcome to my "Blue Christmas" card. I made this card for several challenges this week listed at the bottom of this post.

I used HOTP Blue and Silver paper pack and this adorable Whiff of Joy Angel stamp.

The sentiment and holly leaves are from HOTP Christmas stamp collection embossed with silver embossing powder from Ranger Ind. I added rhinestones to the holly berries for some bling. The frame die cuts are Spellbinders Beaded Ovals and I added Blue Viva Decor Pearl Pen to embellish the ovals as well as the Silver Pearl Pen for the three pearls in the top right corner. I finished it off with white satin ribbon and a snowflake charm.

"Winter Wonderland"

Hello, Friends!

Welcome to my "Winter Wonderland." I made this card for the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge Blog as the guest designer for this week's challenge.

I used Echo Park's Wintertime paper pack including the pattern papers for Tilda and Edwin's winter coats. I colored the rest of the image with Copics and shaded the coats with the warm greys.

The tree was made with my Martha Stewart Scandinavian Style snow flake punch. I just punch several from green cardstock then clipped the ends of the snow flake and adhered them in layers to a triangle shape that I cut from the same cardstock. It really gives that extra 3D effect of the tree. I trimmed the tree with a little Snow Writer dimensional medium and added Crystal Stickles once it was dry.

The frozen pond was created with a sheet of transparency over pattern paper and a cut piece of white felt then covered with spray adhesive and sprinkled with Martha Stewart Crystal Fine glitter.

I finished it off with my white Sharpie Poster paint pen for my snowflakes on the background then covered them with Crystal Stickles.

Spellcaster Tilda

Hello, Friends...I have a new card this week using Spellcaster Tilda. I've had her for some time but I'm just now getting around to coloring and making a card with her. This is a nice break from all the Christmas cards I've been making. I swear I go to bed with glitter on me somewhere.

I used a new paper pack, Kaiser Kraft's Lilac Avenue and created a patchwork for the MDUC Challenge. I like these paper packs because they include coordinating tags, labels and borders. The flourishes and rectangular doily is from Marianne Designs. My flowers are Flora Doodles from Petaloo.

Tilda's wand is decorated with Stardust Stickles and a few rhinestones. I used my PC to create the sentiment with my CK Fairytale font.

"Challenges this week"

Here is my submission for the December Sketch Project by Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog. The challenge is create LETTER and/or WORD projects using Magnolia stamps. I’m not sure if this will qualify but this project was the first thing that came to mind so I gave it a go anyway.

This entry also serves as a submission to "Just Magnolia Challenge Blog" which is "Anything goes with Sparkle."

I used some letter charms to spell Christmas for a sweet little ornament. I would normally put this on my tree but I like this so much it will hang in my craft room window.

I used Bo Bunny Midnight Frost papers. They have a bold look and gave my project extra sparkle using Martha Stewart border punch and glitter then wrapped it around my ornament.

Tilda has some extra sparkle on the lace of her pajamas as well as the gift with my Gelly Roll glitter pen; love this product.

"Magnolia Down Under Challenge #74"

Here is my submission for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge Blog. The challenge this week is SUMMER which is a nice break from all those Christmas cards I've been making.

I absolutely love this Tilda. She reminds me of me when I was much younger and I rode my bike everywhere.

I used an older paper pack from my stash of Deja Views. This paper speaks summer to me with all the greens, blues and flowers. I also stitched around the pattern paper which is something I don't do often but I love the look. And I made the light green rosebuds with a couple of punches from the same color cardstock to match.

"Inspiration Challenge Tuesday"

Here is my submission for the Inspiration Challenge at Magnolia-licous Challenge Blog. Here's the photo that was chosen for the challenge. 

What a beautiful tree and awesome setting. The purple and pink colors spoke to me as well as the stars. So here is my card. I loved using lots of glitter.

I used my Viva Decor Gold Pearl Pen for the flourishes then added gold Stickles for more glitz. I did the same to the Bella Baubles in each of the four corners.

"Challenge #9 - Non-Traditional Christmas Colors"

Here is my submission for the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge Blog. I used red, white and blue as my color scheme.

At this time of year my thoughts are very centered around our troops and praying for their safe return home. Our family has several members that serve in the armed forces and I thought this would be a great way to use our country's colors for a Christmas card.
