I Brake for Winter

Hi, Braker Fans. I have a new project to share with you as my DT assignment for I Brake for Stamps. For my card this week I decided to make another Christmas card only this time I'm using non-traditional colors. I’ve seen some awesome cards in blog land with pinks and blues and they just inspired me to create something extraordinary.
The stamp I used is a new release from the IBFS store called “Winter Avie” by Chelsea Le Designs. I colored my image with Copics and made a criss-cross card using Bazzill cardstock and MME Winter Wonderland designer papers.
I cut my image out and mounted it on white cardstock and a Spellbinders Oval die cut. Then I adhered pearls from Recollections to the frame. I machine stitched my panels with pink thread and added a lace border from JoAnn’s under my image.
I used a Magnolia folded tag die to create the pull out card panel and added vintage seam binding from WOC tied in a bow. I completed the card with a few flowers also from WOC and a sentiment from Whimsy Stamps.

I’m entering this card in the following challenges.

Make It Monday – Always Anything Goes

My card this week features “Christmas Tilda with Cat” from the Little Christmas Collection. I colored Tilda with Copics and used a fun flourish from Whimsy Stamps masked behind Tilda.
My cardstock is from The Paper Co. and the DPs are from Bazzill’s Believe collection. I cut three Magnolia Doohickey Spruce trees from one of the papers and distressed the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I also dry embossed the cardstock with an M-Bossibilities folder from Spellbinders and added a punched border from Martha Stewart for a bit of lacy texture. Then I finished my card with some WOC poinsettias brushed with Stardust Stickles, a sheer ribbon bow from The Ribbon Spot and a cute banner sentiment from Whimsy Stamps.
The inside of my card has similar elements from the front with an open space for any message or sentiment.

I used Bazzill cardstock for the base of my card and mats of my designer papers which are from MME’s Winter Wonderland collection. I cut a few trees from the cardstock with my Marianne Designs dies and brushed them with Making Memories white acrylic paint.
The corner die cuts are from Whimsy Stamps and I ran them through my Xyron sticker maker then covered them with Martha Stewart Garnet Glitter. I Brake for Reindeer Food

Hi, Braker Fans. I have a new project to share with you for my DT assignment for I Brake for Stamps. If you know me, you know that I love creating 3D paper crafts and since it’s getting close to Christmas I thought I would share a simple and cute Christmas favor you can make for those special people in your life.
I made a treat bag that has Reindeer food and it includes a traditional poem on the tag about how to attract Santa’s Reindeer to your home on that magical night. I used a sweet stamp from the IBFS store called “Rudolph.” Of course I didn’t color his nose red but he is still cute. I colored Rudolph with my Copics and I adhered him to my window treat box of Reindeer food.
Then I added a tag with my poem on the inside. The tag was cut from Bazzill and Stampin’ Up paper with my Cameo. I added a bow and a charm to finish it off.

My window bag is from SEI but you get make these from any craft store or you can make your own. Here is the recipe for Reindeer food and it is scrumptious.

Reindeer Food Recipe
Cover a cookie sheet with parchment or wax paper and set aside. In a large bowl mix the following:

2 1/4 cups Cheerios
3 1/4 cups Rice Chex
1 1/2 cups small pretzel twists
3/4 cup M&M’s
3/4 cup peanuts
1 - 12 oz. bag white chocolate chips

Stir gently with a wooden spoon or rubber spatula. In the microwave melt one bag of white chocolate chips according to package directions. Let cool slightly and then stir into the cereal mix a spoonful at a time mixing well. Once the entire mixture is covered, spread evenly onto your cookie sheet. Let stand for 30-60 minutes so chocolate can set. Break up with your hands and fill bags or other containers.

Supplies:
Stamps – I Brake for Stamps
Cardstock – Bazzill
DPs – SU
Ribbon – Michaels
Charm – Whimsy Stamps

All of these are from the Turning Leaves Collection. I colored Edwin and the background with Copics and used them to create a watercolor sky.
My cardstock is from Bazzill and the DPs are from PTI’s Fall Prints and Patterns collection. I distressed the DPs with Brushed Corduroy Distress ink around the edges before matting them to the cardstock panels. I stamped a handful of leaves and acorns and colored them with Copics and added them to my card. The sunflowers are also colored with Copics and I put Ultra-Fine Flower Soft on the middle for dimension and texture. Finally, I tied Vintage Seam Binding from WOC into a bow to finish it off.

So I found this awesome photo to inspire you.
The design team has some spectacular inspiration for you HERE as well and we would love for you to join us.
If you follow along with us for the challenge you could have a chance to win a Special Surprise from Magnolia-licious. The flowers were originally ivory and white so I sprayed them with Gold and Indian Corn Glimmer Mist to give them color and sparkle. The red one also got a coat of Candy Cane Stickles for extra sparkle. Then I topped flowers with metal Pinwheels from HOTP and a WOC rose. My acorn border was cut with my Cameo and I added some Distress Stickles to them for texture. The ribbon bow was created with my trusty Bow-Easy tool and topped with one of my flowers.
