Tilda with Daisies and Mushrooms

Hello, Friends! I know it seems a bit early but I had to start digging out my autumn stamps because our mornings are getting brisk here in Colorado. Autumn is very close upon us so I felt an urge to make a fall themed card.

I decided to color Tilda with Daisies and Mushrooms from the Turning Leaves collection. I used some pretty Maja Design papers that I have in my hoard stash. These are from the Walking in the Forest collection. I still have several sheets left to use for some scrapbook pages and cards. I also used Bazzill cardstock, my favorite, for the card base and some of the die cuts.

I’ve been coloring with Distress Inks more as well because it’s very relaxing. I need to work on my backgrounds a bit to get them smoother and I like to use darker shadows to really make the image pop. You are sure to see more DI coloring from me.

I still love my Copics but I can color an image in half an hour so it is not as relaxing. DIs take me a bit longer and it helps to reduce stress.

Here’s a close up of Tilda.

MM Midway Reminder Back to School

Happy Hump Day, Friends! I’m sharing my DT project for our “Back to School” challenge at Midweek Magnolias.

You have until next Tuesday to make a project or card. Follow our rules and theme and you could have a chance to win a prize from Magnolia Sweden.

This project is a teacher’s gift. I saw this idea on Pinterest and just thought it was the cutest idea. I created my candy pencils with some sweet Mini Magnolias on Bloomy Tags with a bit of distressing.

The pencils are simply Rolo caramels wrapped with cardstock and a Hersey’s Hug on the end. I tied the candy pencils together with some lace trim threaded through my tags in a bow knot.

Here’s a close up of my Tildas. Both are colored with coordinating Copics to match my cardstock.

I hope my project inspires you to join us for the challenge. Have a fabulous week.

I decided to make a Thanksgiving card that features “Tilda with Daisies and Mushrooms” from the 2012 Turning Leaves collection. She is colored in Copics with a machine stitched edge around her frame. The card shape is a Go Kreate XXL die. I cut two sizes and then used the inside of the die to cut my designer paper.

Magnolia-licious Blog Hop

Hello, Friends. Welcome to the Magnolia-licious Blog Hop. If you are hopping along with us and you got here from JANIEL’s blog then you’re on the right track. To start from the beginning, go to the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog to see the lineup and links to all the wonderful creativity the DT has to share with you.

Our Hop theme this time is FALL or HALLOWEEN! The DT always creates something special that is paper crafted for the Hop.

There are so many things you can make to celebrate Fall or Halloween. I Google everything…so I Googled "Fall craft project images" and it returned so many fun creative ideas. I purchased this adorable little watering can at Michaels and decided to decorate it with all kinds of fun fall elements.

And let me tell ya, I had a devil of a time trying to get good photos...LOL The project is too large for my light box and I had to find the best place to get some natural light which usually isn't a problem around here. But Colorado has had tons of ran this last week and flash floods galore! It is so stinkin’ wet I can’t stand to go out in it. Of course, that would never work around here on the ranch because we have horses, ducks, geese, and chickens to care for on a daily basis. I’m sure you can tell I’m feelin’ a little soggy...LOL

Anywhoo, on to my project…“to lighten my mood”…and to share something fun that might inspire you to join our Blog Hop challenge.

I decorated both sides of my watering can with Magnolia stamps. This one is “Tilda with Lovely Jam” from the 2012 Turning Leaves collection.

This side features "Scooter Tilda" also from the Turning Leaves collection. I colored my images with Copics and used Mod Podge to glue and seal them to the can for durability. Most of the floral/leaf elements I purchased at Michaels but the sunflowers I cut with my Silhouette Cameo adding Flowersoft to the centers.

Here are some close-up shots of my Magnolias.

Don’t forget to leave a comment on any of the DT blogs and/or the Challenge blog for a chance to win a weekly prize. The winner is announced every week during “W”ednesday posts.

You are almost at the end of the hop and your next stop is the very talented...

I hope I've inspired you to create something fun for Fall or Halloween. Thanks for letting us share our Blog Hop projects with you...see you back here real soon.

I Brake for Cornucopias

Hi, Braker Fans. I have a new project to share with you as my DT assignment for I Brake for Stamps. Now that Halloween has passed I decided it was time to make a Thanksgiving card. I love the rich colors of Fall so this is my chance to make one of the last fall cards of the year.
The stamp I used is a digi from the IBFS store called “Cornucopia.” I had tons of fun coloring this one because I used so many Copics. My design papers are from BoBunny and cardstock is Bazzill as usual. I die cut the frame for my image from Spellbinders circle and scallop dies. I wanted to keep my embellishments at a minimum so the image would really stand out.
I used Glimmer Mist to give my flowers some color which started out ivory, they’re from WOC. The jute weave trim is from Mon Ami Gabby that I purchased at a Scrap Expo last weekend in Denver. I finished the card with some Vintage Seam Binding tied in a bow from WOC.

I’m entering this card in the following challenges.

Make It Monday – Always Anything Goes

Midweek Magnolias - Masking Technique

Hello, Friends and Happy Hump Day! The Midweek Magnolias Design Team has a new challenge for you and this week and our theme is “Use the Masking Technique.” So I hope you join us this week for the challenge. Hop over to Midweek Magnolias for some awesome inspiration from the DT and leave some love on their blogs. When you play along with us you’ll have a chance to win a fabulous mystery prize from Magnolia Sweden.
My card this week features “Hiking Edwin” and I masked it with “Hiking Background.” I also used the “Autumn Oak Leaf and Acorn” and “Autumn Sunflowers” stamps for my embellishments. All of these are from the Turning Leaves Collection. I colored Edwin and the background with Copics and used them to create a watercolor sky.
My cardstock is from Bazzill and the DPs are from PTI’s Fall Prints and Patterns collection. I distressed the DPs with Brushed Corduroy Distress ink around the edges before matting them to the cardstock panels. I stamped a handful of leaves and acorns and colored them with Copics and added them to my card. The sunflowers are also colored with Copics and I put Ultra-Fine Flower Soft on the middle for dimension and texture. Finally, I tied Vintage Seam Binding from WOC into a bow to finish it off.
The inside of my card has repeating elements from the front with an open space for any message or sentiment.

Supplies:
Stamps – Magnolia
Cardstock – Bazzill
DPs – PTI

Seam binding – WOC
Ink - Distress Ink, Memento

Magnolia-licious October Color Inspiration

Hello, Friends. I’m so glad you got a chance to stop by and see what I created for the Color Inspiration at Magnolia-licious Challenge. It’s my turn to choose the challenges for October so we want to see projects created with Red, Yellow and Brown. They make great autumn colors don’t you think? So I found this awesome photo to inspire you.
The design team has some spectacular inspiration for you HERE as well and we would love for you to join us.
If you follow along with us for the challenge you could have a chance to win a Special Surprise from Magnolia-licious. Diana has so many gorgeous Magnolia stamps, tons of dies, papers, and other goodies in the store. She also carries the Magnolia Ink Magazine which is one of the first places I go for inspiration. You can purchase a single issue or the entire subscription.
My card features the adorable “Autumn Tilda with Broom” from the Turning Leaves Collection. She is colored in Copics and I added a watercolor background for her. She has a bit of Gold Spica in her hair, Candy Cane Stickles on her scarf and Glossy Accents on her boots.
My DPs are from Bo Bunny’s Apple Cider collection matted on Bazzill cardstock. My Leaf doily is from Marianne Designs cut from The Paper Co. cardstock. I also cut a couple of Magnolia Doo Hickey Swirl die cuts for added interest for my flowers which are from Prima and WOC. The flowers were originally ivory and white so I sprayed them with Gold and Indian Corn Glimmer Mist to give them color and sparkle. The red one also got a coat of Candy Cane Stickles for extra sparkle. Then I topped flowers with metal Pinwheels from HOTP and a WOC rose. My acorn border was cut with my Cameo and I added some Distress Stickles to them for texture. The ribbon bow was created with my trusty Bow-Easy tool and topped with one of my flowers.
The inside of my card has a couple repeating elements from the front with blank space for any message or stamped sentiment.

Supplies:
Stamps: Magnolia
Cardstock – Bazzill

Tilda’s scooter headlight got a coat of Glossy Accents for dimension and shine. My flowers and leaves are from Prima with buttons from my stash tied with jute and embossing thread. Finally, I finished it off with a Magnolia fence die cut distressed with Vintage Photo.
The inside of my card has distressed paper and stitched as well. I added a simple sentiment from my PC, stitched and matted on cardstock.
