Midweek Magnolias - Shabby Chic

Hello, Friends and Happy Hump Day! This week the Midweek Magnolias Design Team wants to see your “Shabby Chic” creations.

Pop over and take a look at the gorgeous artwork the Midweek Magnolias DT has created.

When you join us for the challenge you’ll have a chance to win a fabulous Mystery Prize from Magnolia Sweden.

My card started with a darling stamp called “Drip Drop Tilda.” She was a prize I won from my friend Chris who also posted a lovely card with this stamp here. Check out her blog as she is again offering candy just by leaving a comment.

Tilda was colored with Copics and I gave her a rainy day looking background. I mounted this cutie on a fancy Spellbinders die cut frame. My papers are from Magnolia and I used some new lacy trim I found at JoAnn’s a couple of months ago. That is so like me to buy something and several months go by before I use it.

I distressed, stitched and inked my DP panels for that shabby look. My cloud die cut was run through my printer for the sentiment. I have to give credit to my daughter for coming up with the verbiage after showing her my design. I added some black lace, vintage seam binding and bakers twine for the cloud tag. Then I attached a darling umbrella charm to the ribbon trio. I couldn’t wait to use this darling umbrella die cut from Memory Box and I cut it from white cardstock and some of the pattern paper. The fancy photo corners are from Whimsy Stamps with a rhinestone for a little bling.

I finished off the card with some flowers from WOC and a rolled rose and leaves cut with my Marianne dies.

Here’s a close up of Tilda.

The inside features similar elements from the front and I added a simple sentiment.

Magnolia-licious & Wee Stamps - All About Boys

Hello, Friends. The Magnolia-licous  and Wee Stamps Design Team has a new challenge for you and we are celebrating…

So I thought this would be a great time to wish my Darling Hubby “Congrats and Well Wishes” on a new project that he is subcontracting for at UP Aerospace. My sweetie, Bruce, has invested countless hours and financial investment in this private company as a “rocket scientist” and business partner over the past 7 years. As the former CFO of the company he is diving into new territory as a consultant on a new project.

He will be traveling quite often to perform tasks and duties for his new project and I thought this would be a great opportunity for his DW, that’s me, to wish him the best in his endeavor.

Of course, that only means that “I, Cathy Lee” will be holding down the fort, I mean ranch, duties while he is gone...LOL  I need to learn how to plow snow with the tractor. We got 15 inches from a blizzard that blew through our area this week and March is our snowiest month of the year. He’s going to California’s warmer weather for 2 weeks and leaving me with these responsibilities…it’s ok…I’m ok…LOL

My card begins with the awesome “Winner Takes It All” Collection with the Starship, Moon, and Dot Star stamps.

I colored my images with Copics and the Dot Stars are heat embossed with navy blue embossing powder over yellow cardstock. Then I cut them out and added some Jute Twine for the centers. The Cosmo die cut is from Memory Box and available for pre-order in Diana’s store.

I chose BoBunny “Blast Off” Collection papers for the main color theme and design of my card.

The inside has similar elements and I added a sentiment of my own from my PC wishing my hubby, Bruce, the best on his travels.

Come join us for the fun and you could have a chance to win a fabulous Magnolia-licious Surprise.

Supplies
Stamps: Starship, Moon, Dot Stars, Magnolia

Design Paper: Blast Off, BoBunny

Bling: Recollections

That’s it for me today. I hope you enjoyed visiting and taking a look at my card. Check out the other wonderful DT creations at Magnolia-licous & Wee Stamps.

Brand New Wee Wednesdays

Hello, Friends and welcome to…

Wee Wednesdays
at

Diana is now carrying these fabulous Sylvia Zet - Wee Stamps in her store and every Wednesday a few of the Design Team members will be showcasing these adorable stamps on new projects for you.

I chose to make a card with Ruby. She is so much fun to color and such a versatile stamp. You can use her for just about any occasion such as Birthday, Thinking of You, Get Well, etc. I added several layers of fabulous designer papers from My Mind’s Eye, Miss Caroline collection. These are fresh and springy colors and with all the snow and cold weather we’ve had it was time for me to use something bright and fun.

I kept my embellies to a minimum for this cutie image with a few flowers, ribbon, lace and pearls so she could shine on her own.

I used a “Sweet Wonderful You” Hero Arts stamp for my sentiment on the inside using some similar elements from the front.

Here’s a close-up of darling Ruby.

Supplies
Stamps: Ruby, Wee Stamps
Cardstock: Bazzill
Design Paper: Miss Caroline, MME

Midweek Magnolias - Colour Blue

Hello, Friends and Happy Hump Day! The Midweek Magnolias Design Team has a new challenge for you and this week we are playing with the colour “Blue.” That’s easy right?

Go to the Midweek Magnolias Challenge Blog for inspiration from the DT’s gorgeous creations and leave a comment on their blogs. These girls are such talented artists.

When you join us for the challenge you’ll have a chance to win a fabulous Mystery Prize from Magnolia Sweden.

I decided to make a Crisscross card for the challenge to inspire you and used lots of pretty blue and I added some pink colors for a girly card. “Tilda with Love Cake” from the 2013 Love Collection is my main character from Magnolia-licious and I decided Birthday had to be the theme. This will make the perfect Birthday card for a young girl.

My papers are all from Magnolia and cardstock is Bazzill. I machine stitched my panels with blue thread and it stands out nicely. The lace is from a Scrapbook Expo I attended last October with my daughter but I can’t even remember the store name. I used some fun Magnolia die cuts for my crisscross trim and Tilda tag. The frames are from Spellbinders. I’ve had these for a while but never used them.

The inside features mini Tilda with Birthday Cake also colored with Copics. I die cut her with my Magnolia tag die so that you can pull the tag and the entire base come out of the crisscross pocket.

Here’s close ups of my Tildas.

Supplies
Stamps: Tilda with Love Cake, Tilda with Birthday Cake, Magnolia; Sentiments, Hero Arts
Cardstock: Bazzill
Designer Papers: Magnolia
Dies/Punches: Magnolia; Spellbinders; Marianne Designs; Nellie Snellen
Ribbon: WOC
Pearls: Simplicity, JoAnn’s
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; Kort & Godt

I’m entering this project in the following Challenges:

Magnolia-licious and Wee Stamps - Birthday Challenge

Hello, Friends. It’s been a couple weeks since I posted and I wanted to share some news that has happened around the Lee Ranch. I bought an AQHA Red Roan gelding horse at the National Western Stock Show auction here in Colorado about a month ago. His registered name is CL Special Frost (aka Dallas). He is well built at 16 hands and an extremely gentle ten-year old. He was ranch ridden in Iowa but primarily a trail gelding and loves it. The past 2 years he has been shown in open shows by a novice youth. Shown in both English and Western but excels in English events. He has been started on jumps and loping a barrel pattern. Dallas is really gentle and a quick learner. We are so lucky to have him and I’m excited as he will be fun for the grandkids to ride.

Here’s a couple photos…to be honest it took 20+ photos before I could get a good one because he either had his tongue out, was snoozing or interested in visiting with his new brother, our adopted Mustang, Duncan.

Dallas has already established hierarchy as the authority of the herd. LOL…This can be terrifying at times as they will buck, bite and rear at each other until one concedes. Unfortunately, that was poor Duncan. But Duncan is just a “baby” at 3 years old so he had no choice.

Magnolia-licious and Wee Stamps

The Magnolia-licious Highlites and Challenge blog Design Teams have joined forces to create one new Design Team.

Plus, Diana is now carrying the fabulous "Wee Stamps" by Sylvia Zet in her store and we have fun new challenges for you to join. So to start us off with the new challenge our theme is “Happy Birthday.” So get those crafty papers, embellies and stamps out and join us for an easy, fun challenge.

Check the Challenge Blog for NEW RULES as we’ve made some changes. If you follow along with us you could have a chance to win a Special Surprise from Magnolia-licious.

The new “Easter” Collection is available for pre-order in the store. The DT will be coloring these images so you can see them being transformed before your very eyes. Also, Magnolia-licious is now your “ONE STOP SHOP” for Wee Stamps. Check out the vast selection she has added. I can’t wait to color these!

For my Birthday card this week I used the adorable “Tilda with Little Pocket” from the Love Collection and colored her with Copics. I used Bazzill cardstock and the DPs are from DCWV Linen Closet Collection. I love the muted aqua, green and brown colors of these papers.

I added several Magnolia die cuts to my card. The banner was printed with a sentiment from my PC. I distressed my panels, Tilda’s frame and other elements with SU Crumbcake ink.

Here’s a close-up of Tilda. My ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl and a cute ribbon slide from WOC. My flowers are also from WOC. The butterflies are MS punches with pearls from Recollections. I gave Tilda’s pocket, pants lace and the surrounding dots in her frame a coat of Stardust Stickles. I also cut freehand bows for her braids and added pearls.

The inside of my card has a Happy Birthday stamped sentiment from Hero Arts.
