I Brake for Peekers

Hello, Friends. It’s another I Brake for Stamps Tuesday DT project. I am late getting my project posted today. I have had company here this weekend. My daughter, son-in-law and grand baby moved to Colorado and we have spent lots of time getting them settled. They are staying with us for a while until they find a new home.

The project I made for my post today features a door hanger for my granddaughter, Isabel. She is 7 and loves to craft herself. She is very creative and loves frilly things so I know she’ll love this. Although, it may end up on the inside of her bedroom door to hide it from her busy little brother, Carter. He is 3 and a real monkey at times.
I used a cute little stamp from the I Brake for Stamps store, called By the Beach Peeker. The store now carries some sweet Elisabeth Bell stamps produced by the SCACD Stamp Company. She comes in a set or individually. They are darling and so fun to color.
I didn’t have a template or chipboard hanger so I just cut a sturdy piece of Bazzill 4 by 8 inches cutting a hole in the top for the door knob. I covered it with BoBunny pattern paper on both sides then distressed the edges with Chestnut Roan ink. I adhered my image on a Spellbinder die cut and added some flowers, frilly trim, rhinestones and foam letters for Bel’s name.
These are the Copics I used to color my image.

Supplies:
Cardstock – Bazzill
DPs – BoBunny, Ambrosia Collection
Dies/Punches – Spellbinders
Flowers – Prima
Frayed Trim – JoAnn’s
Gems & Trinkets – BoBunny, Ambrosia Collection
Foam Letters – Queen and Co.

Midweek Magnolias - Anything but a Card

Hello Friends! I'm back with another project for Midweek Magnolias. Our challenge this week is "Anything but a Card." I love challenges like this because I am a paper engineer at heart. Plus this gives me a chance to use some of those awesome cutting files for my Silhouette Cameo. I found this sweet little baby buggy that is the perfect size for my adorable Edwin.
This project was really simple. I cut and assembled my baby buggy then added the butterflies and pearl buttons.
The butterflies are from Whimsy Stamps called Butterfly Border. The individual butterfly stamp accompanies the border digi. I got the idea from a lovely fellow crafter, Kasey. She made a card with these butterflies and I fell in love with them. Check out her card here. She feathered two colors to blend them for her butterflies and they are awesome. Purple and Yellow are complimentary colors and don't blend so I didn't use that technique.
Up close and personal of my adorable Edwin.
These are the Copics I used to color Edwin.

Supplies:
Cardstock – Bazzill
DPs - Nana's Nursery Boy
Cutting Files – Silhouette Cameo, Rivka Wilkins
Pearls – Viva Decor
Brads - Michaels
Other - Cheesecloth from JoAnn's

I’m entering this project in the following Challenges:

Make It Monday – Anything Goes
Color Me Creative - Babies
MDUC - Bingo (Edwin, Cheesecloth, Pearls)

I hope my baby buggy inspires you to join us this week at Midweek Magnolias.

Tilda with Hawaiian Flower

Good evening, Friends! I made a card this evening for a couple challenges. I hope you like it.
I haven’t used this sweet Tilda stamp yet and thought I should make a card with her. This is Tilda with Hawaiian Flower. I just love that flower in her hair. I paired her with the Magnolia Stone Path stamp for background interest.
I used Magnolia and Jilly Bean DPs for a pink, grey and blue color combo. Then I distressed my papers with Pumice Stone Distress Ink for a shabby chic look. I took some Cheese Cloth and made a fun bow with a ribbon slide and added some pretty lace trim to my DPs for texture. To finish off the card, I stamped a cute ticket sentiment on the grey cardstock and added some flowers along with distressed leaves and a pretty stick pin that I made with a couple beads. I also added silver Stickles to Tilda’s dress and Glossy accents to her shoes.
I replicated the main design elements from the front of my card for the inside. Now it's ready for a note or any sentiment.
These are the Copics I used to color my images. Wow, did I use a lot!

Supplies:
Stamps - Magnolia; Whimsy Stamps
Cardstock – Bazzill; Heavenly White
DPs – Magnolia; Jilly Bean
Flowers – WOC

Beaded Lace – JoAnn’s

I’m entering this card in the following Challenges:

I Brake for Weddings

Hello, Friends. It’s another I Brake for Stamps Tuesday DT project. Today my card features a lovely wedding card for the bride and groom. This stamp is called “Toasting Glasses.” It is also versatile for use as an engagement, anniversary or bridal shower card.
I made an easel card and used my stamp to emboss in silver embossing powder on three surfaces. My first layer was stamped and embossed on tan, then pink and lastly white cardstock.
I cut the pink and white layers around the image then adhered them to the tan cardstock. My label is from Spellbinders with Liquid Pearls dotted around the label. I used pop dots for dimension so that the image would stand out against the dry embossed swirl background.

Supplies:
Cardstock – Bazzill; The Paper Company
Dies/Punches – Spellbinders
Flowers – WOC
Liquid Pearls – Ranger
Silver Embossing Powder – Ranger
Embossing Folder - Quickutz

Midweek Magnolias 3-2-1 Recipe

Hello Friends! I have some awesome news to share with you today. As of last week, I joined the wonderful Design Team for Midweek Magnolias. I am so excited because I have so many of these lovely Maggie stamps and can’t wait to share them with you on my cards. I am so lucky to be a part of this team of talented ladies. Check out Midweek Magnolias for some awesome inspiration from the DT and leave some love on their blogs.

This week our challenge is a 3-2-1 Recipe of (3 Flowers, 2 buttons and 1 Ribbon).
So for my card I decided to use Flip Flop Tilda, Sunrise in Key West and "Have a Sunny Day" Magnolia stamps. If you know me, orange and blue is one of my favorite color combos. I would never have thought these colors would compliment each other but years ago I found myself scrapping a page of my children based on a color challenge and was astounded that they worked so well together.
I modified the the white lace trim with Lily Pad Glimmer Mist and the Hibiscus flower was pink so I gave it a coat of Scarlet Glimmer Mist to match my color theme.
My DT sister Anne shared the design-seeds.com Web site with our team and I was awed by the gorgeous color combos on the site. So my color theme is based on this image with some pretty blues added to the mix.
Here's a closeup of Tilda. I added Diamond Stickles to the sun rays for lots of sparkle.
Here’s the inside of my card, ready for a personal message or sentiment.
These are the Copics I used to color my images. I used the R1 series and YR2 series to blend just the right color for the sun rays.

Supplies:
Cardstock – Bazzill; The Paper Co.
DPs - Stella Rose; Flip Flops by Cathy Lee
Flowers – Prima; Easycraft.com
Dies/Punches – Spellbinders; Lori Whitlock
Pearls – Recollections
Buttons - HOTP
Lace – WOC

I’m entering this project in the following Challenges:

TOMIC - Anything Goes (Happy Anniversary!)
Magnolia-licious Highlites - Water
Make It Monday – Anything Goes
7 Kids Challenge - School's Out for Summer

I hope my card inspires you to join us this week at Midweek Magnolias. Hope to see you there...

I Brake for Elisabeth Bell

Hello, Friends. It’s another I Brake for Stamps Tuesday DT project. Today my card features one of the new stamp releases in the store called “Susan” by Elisabeth Bell from the SCACD Stamp Company. These are such sweet girls, fun to color and make great girly cards.
For this little doll, I made a window card. I haven’t crafted one of these in a long time and thought she should be framed properly. I used some pretty designer papers by My Mind’s Eye that gives my card a soft look.
My ornate Fleur de Lis frame is from Spellbinders and I distressed the edges of all my frame layers with Chestnut Roan ink by ColorBox. I added some yellow Stickles on her bouquet of flowers for a little sparkle then finished it off with a few flowers and pearl chandeliers and it was done.
These are the Copics I used to color Susan.

Supplies:
DPs – Howdy Doody Collection, My Mind’s Eye
Cardstock – Bazzill
Dies/Punches – Spellbinders; Martha Stewart
Flowers – WOC
Pearls – Recollections

This card a sneak peek of the new monthly challenge coming up tomorrow so head over to I Brake for Challenges and check out DTs projects for some inspiration.
