Midweek Magnolias - Lacey Lace

Happy Hump Day, Friends! We have a new challenge for you at Midweek Magnolias. This fortnight our theme is…

“Lacey Lace”

Don’t you just love Lace? It is one of my mainstays and on almost every card I make. My friend, Suzanne Dean, shared a link with friends on her Color Me Creative FB site to the fabulous Lavish Laces Etsy Store. OMGoodness, I love it all. But my wallet would see some serious ramifications had I gone crazy. LOL

So I played it safe and got lots of pretties for a very low price. Of course, I use my Etsy card sales to fund some of those extra expenses for new embellies, stamps, etc.

My DT card features the NEW “Sagittarius Tilda” from the new Zodiac collection. She just happens to be my sign since my birthday is in late November. She is adorable and sporting a bow and arrow. I received a compound bow for my birthday. It needs adjusting since my strength has left me in my old age. Ok, you can stop laughing. LOL

I colored Tilda with Copics and gave her a shaded background to make her POP. I used some pretty papers from Kaisercraft and My Dear Watson with vintage pink, red and brown/ivory colors. I love how these work together. My Lacey Lace was a freebee “Thank You” gift with purchase from the fabulous store owner Jaizella Clark. Check out her store here.

Here’s a close up of Tilda.

I hope my project inspires you to join us for the challenge. Have a fabulous week.

Clean and Simple at Magnolia-licious

Hello, Friends. We have a new challenge for you at Magnolia-licious. This fortnight our theme is…

Clean and Simple

I’ll warn you now…“Clean and Simple” is not my favorite style. I love to load up on the embellishments, die cuts and frilly lace. So I decided to create something that has a little contemporary design such has the Chevron pattern as we have been seeing it in a lot of new pattern papers.

My card features “Teddybear Love” from the Princes and Princesses collection. I colored Tilda and her teddy bear with Copics and created grassland at her feet. I colored Tilda’s Teddy bear with a soft fuzzy technique for depth and texture.

My designer papers are Maja Designs from the Fika collection. I love all Maja Design pattern papers; they are so vintage and shabby chic. I cut several chevron shapes from my DPs, distressed with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and layered them in an “unintentional” (OMGoodness, I didn’t have my ruler in the right place while gluing the segments. Woohoo!) slightly asymmetrical (Yikes!) pattern which actually created a little interest. I’m not unhappy with the way it turned out. LOL

Here’s a close up of this sweet Tilda with her fuzzy teddy bear. She always takes the stage.

Don’t forget to leave us a comment on any of the DT blogs and/or the Challenge blog for a chance to win a weekly prize. The winner is announced every week during the “W”ednesday post.

Easter-Spring Blog Hop at Magnolia-licious

Hello, Friends. It’s BLOG HOP time!!!

The Magnolia-licious Design Team has been busy creating Easter and Spring projects to inspire you. I’m here to kick us off on this fabulous fun journey you are sure to enjoy.

If you get lost along the way just head back over to the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog for the Hop list. I’ll also provide it at the end of my post.

My project for the Easter-Spring Hop is a darling Easter basket featuring Tilda with Egg and Chicken. Tilda was such fun to color with my Copics. I used so many. I gave her some pretty green grass at her feet and a bright sunny background.

I used Bazzill cardstock for my basket which I cut with my Silhouette Cameo. I love the intricate-filigree basket design, very delicate and pretty.

Here’s my basket from another angle. I added a few flowers, my favorite Heart Swirl die cuts and some vintage seam binding.

A close up of this sweet Tilda.

Your next stop on the hop is the lovely and talented Barb Hardeman.

Below is the entire list.
