Easter-Spring Blog Hop at Magnolia-licious

Hello, Friends. It’s BLOG HOP time!!!

The Magnolia-licious Design Team has been busy creating Easter and Spring projects to inspire you. I’m here to kick us off on this fabulous fun journey you are sure to enjoy.

If you get lost along the way just head back over to the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog for the Hop list. I’ll also provide it at the end of my post.

My project for the Easter-Spring Hop is a darling Easter basket featuring Tilda with Egg and Chicken. Tilda was such fun to color with my Copics. I used so many. I gave her some pretty green grass at her feet and a bright sunny background.

I used Bazzill cardstock for my basket which I cut with my Silhouette Cameo. I love the intricate-filigree basket design, very delicate and pretty.

Here’s my basket from another angle. I added a few flowers, my favorite Heart Swirl die cuts and some vintage seam binding.

A close up of this sweet Tilda.

Your next stop on the hop is the lovely and talented Barb Hardeman.

My Favorite Magnolia Stamp

Hello, Friends. It’s that time again…The Midweek Magnolias has a new challenge for you this week. We want to see your Favorite Stamp. Personally they are all my favorites in some form or fashion but I had to pick.

So I chose to make a card with one of my very favorites, Tilda with Hawaiian Flower from the Butterfly Dreams collection. I just love this little cutie. She has Spring written all over her. I also love this darling Tulip path so I masked it over Tilda for a springy scene.

I haven’t used these papers in a long time and I was in a purple, yellow and green mood, they are from Kaiser Krafts. I stitched all my panels on Bazzill cardstock and used several layers.

Tilda was colored with Copics and I created a watercolor background for her. The butterfly border is from MS and I cut out a few individual butterflies and added them to Tilda’s scene. They were topped with a few rhinestones and I bent their wings back for dimension. The stamped butterflies got a coat of stickles for a little sparkle.

I added some cute flowers, satin ribbon with a heart shaped ribbon slide and lace. The Vintage Sign is from Magnolia with a heat embossed sentiment from Hero Arts. I threaded some bakers twine in the holes of the sign for a frilly look.

Finally I added cute Queen & Co. stripped pearls to the corners of my card

Here’s a close up of Tilda.

The inside is very simple with the butterfly border on the top of the personal message panel.

Stamps: Magnolia, Hero Arts

DPs: Kaiser Krafts
Dies/Punches: Magnolia, Spellbinders, Martha Stewart

Spring is in the Air

Hello, Friends. I am so ready for Spring! We just got another foot of snow this last weekend and I’m hoping we are caught up with the much needed moisture. But, I am dying for the warm weather to grace us and stay put for a while.

Our new challenge is up at Magnolia-licous & Wee Stamps. This fortnight we are celebrating…

Spring is in the Air

There’s lots of DT inspiration to behold at the Challenge blog. So stop over and visit us.

My card features Tilda with Big Tulip Pot from the 2013 Easter Collection colored with Copics. I just love creating the background with these clouds so I had fun with this technique again. The tulips in my garden are peeking out of the ground by about 3 inches and I love the “Claudia” Tulips. So I decided to color it Claudia style.

My DPs are from Doodlebug Design, they're such fresh colors and patterns that go so well with Tilda. Plus, I had to have a go at the terra cotta colors for her tulip pot. I really enjoyed coloring this Tilda.

I used my new Magnolia Vintage Box Lacing Chocolate die cut border and the heart banner was created with my Silhouette. So adorable, don’t you think? I added some ribbon flowers on each side of my image with lime rhinestones for a bit of glitz.

I finished off the card with some springy flowers, it couldn't go without a few Tulips.

Here’s a close-up of Tilda. She is just a "doll" in those green boots.

The inside has similar elements from the front with blank space for a personal sentiment or message.

I’m entering my card in the following challenges:

Midweek Magnolias - Shabby Chic

Hello, Friends and Happy Hump Day! This week the Midweek Magnolias Design Team wants to see your “Shabby Chic” creations.

Pop over and take a look at the gorgeous artwork the Midweek Magnolias DT has created.

When you join us for the challenge you’ll have a chance to win a fabulous Mystery Prize from Magnolia Sweden.

My card started with a darling stamp called “Drip Drop Tilda.” She was a prize I won from my friend Chris who also posted a lovely card with this stamp here. Check out her blog as she is again offering candy just by leaving a comment.

Tilda was colored with Copics and I gave her a rainy day looking background. I mounted this cutie on a fancy Spellbinders die cut frame. My papers are from Magnolia and I used some new lacy trim I found at JoAnn’s a couple of months ago. That is so like me to buy something and several months go by before I use it.

I distressed, stitched and inked my DP panels for that shabby look. My cloud die cut was run through my printer for the sentiment. I have to give credit to my daughter for coming up with the verbiage after showing her my design. I added some black lace, vintage seam binding and bakers twine for the cloud tag. Then I attached a darling umbrella charm to the ribbon trio. I couldn’t wait to use this darling umbrella die cut from Memory Box and I cut it from white cardstock and some of the pattern paper. The fancy photo corners are from Whimsy Stamps with a rhinestone for a little bling.

I finished off the card with some flowers from WOC and a rolled rose and leaves cut with my Marianne dies.

Here’s a close up of Tilda.

The inside features similar elements from the front and I added a simple sentiment.
