You're Tweet!

Hello Friends and Happy Monday! I have been out of sorts with my PC. I believe my network adaptor has kaput and I had no internet yesterday. You never realize how much you depend on something until you lose it. So I am operating from my laptop. Thank heavens for backups.

Our Challenge at Craft Your Passion is up and we have a sketch for all you lovely crafters. This is one of my main creative inspiration tools and I almost always start with a sketch. Otherwise, it’s a picture of the card or project in my head.
Our sponsor this week is Robyn’s Fetish and I'm using a cute image called “A Little Birdie Told Me.” I didn't stray much from the design of the sketch as you can see.
I got to play with a new crafting tool this week. I received a Silhouette Cameo for Mother’s Day. There are so many awesome cutting files for this baby. So I used my gift card that came with it to purchase an adorable border which I fashioned as a frame for my image. I also picked up some cute photo corners.
Boy, is this cutter going to come in handy. I have some ideas for creating my own designs. And there are so many choices in the online store and I love the flexibility of making the files just the size I need. I have a Cricut and Design Studio but I’m limited to the shapes on the cartridges that I own and I can get a design for $.99 cents in the Silhouette online store without wasting a bunch of money to purchase a cartridge and only ever using a few shapes.

I created my own sentiment, “You’re Tweet” on my PC. You don’t need internet for that, ARGH!
These are the Copics I used to color my image.

Supplies:
Cardstock – Bazzill; The Paper Co.
DPs – Basic Grey
Flowers – WOC
Dies/Punches – Silhouette; Fiskars; Martha Stewart
Rhinestones – Hero Arts
Bakers Twine – WOC
Glitter – Stardust & Cinnamon Stickles

I’m entering this project in the following Challenges:

Make it Monday – Anything Goes

I hope see you at CYP this week. Get crafing with our sketch for a chance to win some fabulous prizes.

Summer Flower Tilda

Hello Blog Friends! I have another card to share with you today. I’ve been inspired to create cards with every stamp I received in my Magnolia Summer Memories Collection kit. So I am working on Kit #2 and they all need to be entered in the Magnolia-licious Medley Collection Club (which BTW is exclusive to members) by August so I’m getting a head start. Hopefully, I’ll be able to submit cards for Kit #1 as well.
My card today features Summer Flower Tilda and the Barbed Wire Fence stamps.
I created my own background paper for this one with Magnolia Butterfly stamps from the 2011 Butterfly Dreams Collection. I embossed them with clear embossing powder on white cardstock then sponged on Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. I used a decoupage effect for Tilda’s head, her shoes and a couple of flowers for dimension.
Here’s the inside of my card ready for a personal message or sentiment.
These are the Copics I used to color my images.

Supplies:
Cardstock – Bazzill; One Sheet Wonder
Flowers – WOC
Dies/Punches – Magnolia & Spellbinders
Pearls – Hero Arts
Lace/Rickrack – Martha Stewart & SEI

I’m entering this project in the following Challenges:
Color Me Creative – Anything Goes
Paper Sundaes – Things with Wings
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Anything Goes

I hope you like my card…I’ve love to hear from you so leave me a comment, please and thank you.

I Brake for Golf

Hello, Friends. It is another I Brake for Stamps Tuesday DT project. Today my project features a stamp called “Small Golf Ball.” I made Golf Tee holders for my Golf Buddies. We exchange goody bags for each golfer attending the Birdie Juice Golf Event. Everyone contributes something to the goody bags; typically it's golf related. This year it is hosted in Palm Beach, Florida. Sorry to say I will not be joining them this time but look forward to next year.

I have a tee box in my backyard to practice from with three greens in the pasture to hit to and I’ll be thinking of them while they're on the course.
This is such a great stamp for this type of project or a card for that special golfer in your life.
I found the tutorial at Scor-Pal under their project listings. I modified the Tee Holder a bit it to include 5 tees and to accommodate the larger Golf Ball stamp. This would be great for Father’s Day especially if Dad is a fan of the game.
Supplies:
DPs – Recollections
Cardstock – The Paper Co.
Ribbon – American Crafts & Ofray
Tools – Basic Grey Notch and Die; Making Memories hole punch

You can get this stamp and so many others at I Brake for Stamps. Use my coupon code SAVE10CATHY for 10% off your purchase.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week.

Barbecue Anyone?

Hello Friends and Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. Happy Mother’s Day to all those awesome Ladies out there in Blog-land!

Today is a big day for me...I sold my house in Highlands Ranch and the Buyers are closing today. One less reponsibility to care for and that is a huge one for me. Yippee!!!

Our new challenge is up at Craft Your Passion and this week we are featuring a color challenge.
Our new sponsor this week is Some Odd Girl. They have some super cute images if you love to color Girls.
For my card this week I used a couple of new Magnolia stamps from the Summer Memories collection called Burger Tilda and Tilda’s Barbecue. I stamped Tilda and the BBQ with SU’s Crumb Cake ink instead of black this time to give her a softer look.
They were colored with Copics on Cryogen paper and I added Glossy Accents to Tilda’s Barbecue for dimension. I also distressed the edges of my cardstock, paper and image with the Crumb Cake ink.
Here’s the inside of my card ready for any sentiment. This card would make a great invite for a BBQ or picnic.

Supplies:
Cardstock – Bazzill
DPs – Reminiscence & Magnolia
Flowers & Seam Binding – WOC
Dies/Punches – Magnolia & Whimsy Stamps
Pearls – Hero Arts
Floss – DMC
Glossy Accents – Ranger
Ink – SU, Crumb Cake

I’m entering this project in the following Challenges:

Make It Monday – Anything Goes
Wild Orchid Challenge - Anything Goes
Just Magnolia - More than One Stamp

I hope you join us for the fun at CYP this week!

I Brake for Desert Mustangs

Hello, Friends. It is another I Brake for Stamps Tuesday DT project. Today my card features a stamp called “Desert Mustang.” This is a great stamp for a masculine card. My hubby and I love horses and are in the market for a couple since we moved to the ranch a year ago. I can’t wait to post some photos when we get them.
I love this stamp not just because it has a horse but for the awesome background. It reminds me of the Moab Desert in Utah and so beautiful.
I didn’t decorate the inside of my card this time but left it open as a note card.

Supplies:
DPs – Making Memories; Basic Grey
Cardstock – Bazzill; The Paper Co.
Pearls – Recollections
Ribbon – The Ribbon Spot
Dies/Punches – Spellbinders
Medium – Prisma Colored Pencils

You can get this stamp and so many others at I Brake for Stamps. Use my coupon code SAVE10CATHY for 10% off your purchase.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week.

Torn or Distressed at CYP

Hello Friends and Happy Monday! We had a wonderful time with the grandkids last week. I also have a new name, it’s Dra-ma and Hubby’s new name is Dran-pa. Our 3 year old grandson, Carter is so cute but a real handful. He’s a little like his daddy who had ADD and let me tell you…it was a real adventure raising that child…LOL But we got through it and he turned out to be a wonderful dad and very responsible and successful human being. I’m so proud of him.

It seems my crafting passion has rubbed off on my granddaughter, Bel. She loves to craft, brought her own glue and other supplies to make paper doll puppets and entertain us with a show. We spent some time in my craft studio stamping Magnolia images for her to color and put in the Smashbook I made for her. We had lots of fun.

OK, so on to the new challenge at Craft Your Passion…We want to see Distressed and Torn edges. I’m using a set of digi stamps from Doodle Pantry called Vintage Phone. Our other sponsor this week is Paper Shelter and our DT has some wonderful cards to share with you.
For my card I tried my hand at creating a patina background. I love the look and feel of it; so vintage and antique. If you want to give it a try check out the Splitcoaststampers tutorial.
I colored my image with Copics and a Gold pen from American Crafts. I tried shading the gold pen work after it was dry but it still rubbed off on my Copic nib so I scraped that idea. Don’t want to ruin my Copics. The colors I used were E47, E44, E43 & E42.
Here’s the inside with the sentiment from my stamp set. I think I went a little over board on the gold embossing powder here though.

Supplies:
Cardstock – Bazzill
Flowers – Marianne Designs
Dies/Punches – Spellbinders
Seam Binding – WOC
Pearls – Recollections
Ink – SU; Ranger
Embossing Powder – Ranger, Gold

I’m entering this project in the following Challenges:

Make It Monday – Anything Goes
Dilly Beans Challenge - Texture
Phindy's Place Challenge - Vintage
Polka Doodle - Distressing
Paper Crafting Journey - Vintage

I hope you join us for the fun at CYP this week for a chance to win some wonderful prizes from our sponsors!
