Midweek Magnolias - What's Cooking?

Hello, Friends and Happy Hump Day! We are in the middle of our week and I happen to be in San Diego on business travel. Trying to soak up some fresh Pacific sun and air. The Midweek Magnolias have a new challenge up for you and our theme is “What’s Cooking?”

For my card I decided to create a Peek-a-Boo card from one on my Magnolia-licious DT sisters, Norma who created an awesome tutorial right here. She is so talented and I would love for you to visit her, say "Hi" and leave her some love.
I used two Maggies for my card this week from the Magnolia-licious store, Burger Tilda and Kitchen Tilda. These two lovelies say “What’s Cooking” to me. I colored my cuties with Copics but I used so many colors I didn’t catalog them.
I used some pretty DPs from BoBunny - Ambrosia Collection and Bazzill cardstock for the base and scallop frames. I stamped "a little yummy for your tummy" on a frilly Marianne die cut for my sentiment.
When you open the card the second image slides into the frame and shows through the window like this.

This is a shot of the card inside fully open.

Isn’t that just sweet? I love this design and it is so fun to make. Norma has clear step-by-step instructions so I hope you give it a try.

Supplies:
Cardstock – Bazzill
DPs – BoBunny
Flowers – WOC
Dies/Punches – Spellbinders ; Marianne Designs
Seam Binding – WOC
Pearls – Recollections
Charms - Magnolia

I’m entering this card in the following Challenges:

Make It Monday – Linky Party, Anything Goes
Tilda's Town - Anything Goes

I hope my card inspires you to join us at Midweek Magnolias. Thanks for popping in to visit and have a great week…

I Brake for Cherry Blossoms and Bamboo

Hi, Braker Fans. It’s Tuesday which means it’s time to show you my DT project for I Brake for Stamps. I have some beautiful Asian Stamps from the store and they make great focal points or you can use them to create lovely background papers.
So that’s what I did with these this week. I used the “Mini Cherry Blossom” to create a background paper for my card. I randomly stamped it with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. For my focal point I used “Large Bamboo Stalks” with Peeled Paint and sprayed the stamp with Gold Glimmer Mist before stamping to give it some shimmer. Then I ditressed the edges of my Bamboo stamp with Scattered Straw.
Here’s is a close up so that you can see the glimmer effect. I typed a “Thank You” sentiment on my PC and added a little sheer yellow ribbon with a flower to finish the card.

Supplies:
Cardstock – The Paper Company
Distress Ink – Ranger
Ribbon – The Ribbon Spot
Flower – WOC
Other – Glimmer Mist

See you next week...

I Brake for Baby Buggies

Hi, Braker Fans. It’s Tuesday which means it’s time to show you my DT project for I Brake for Stamps. As many of you know I love the craft of paper engineering. So I created a shaped card for a baby girl in the shape of a dress. I saw a cute baby dress on the web and knew I had to create something like it. So here it is…
I hand drew one half of the dress and cut it on a fold to create a uniform shape and that became my template. Then I used the template for the front of the dress as well as creating my card with it. I added the lace, pearls and flowers for lots of texure.
I used a cute baby buggy stamp from the IBFS store called “Baby Buggy” for the inside of my card. It’s available in rubber or digi stamp form.

Supplies:
Stamps - I Brake for Stamps; Hero Arts
Cardstock – Bazzill
Pearls/Gems – Hero Arts; Stamp Simply
Punches/Dies – Marvy Uchida Flower
Lace – Martha Stewart
Thread - DMC

You can get this stamp at I Brake for Stamps online store. Use my coupon code SAVE10CATHY for 10% off your purchase.

Midweek Magnolias - Weddings

Hello, Friends and Happy Hump Day! The Design team at Midweek Magnolias has a new challenge for you and our theme this week is "Weddings."

My card features the adorable Tilda Bride and Bridesmaid from the 2010 Wedding Collection.
I used some beautiful Magnolia papers from the collection as well and some new die cuts.
I distressed several elements with SU’s Crumb Cake ink pad; I love this color. The oval frame was layered on some cheese cloth for a soft delicate look. For my heart tag I added a “love” stamp and a double heart gold metal charm.
My image is colored in Copics and I added some Viva Décor pearls to the Bride’s necklace and hair. Both of my sweeties received a coat of stickles on their dresses and the Bride’s shoes and headpiece. I used Frosted Lace for the Bride and Stardust for the Bridesmaid.
I replicated similar elements for the inside of my card. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.
These are the Copics I used to color my image.

Supplies:
Cardstock – Bazzill; Xpress It
DPs – Magnolia
Flowers – Magnolia
Dies/Punches – Magnolia, Spellbinders, Memory Box
Stickles – Ranger
Ribbon – American Crafts
Pearls – Viva Decor; Hero Arts

I hope I’ve inspired you to join us this week for our “Wedding Challenge.” Head over to Midweek Magnolias and check out the lovely DT’s artwork.

I’m entering this card in the Make It Monday - Linky Party, Anything Goes Challenge.

I Brake for Cocker Spaniels

Hi, Braker Fans. For my Tuesday DT project today I made a tag with a cute stamp called “Cocker Spaniel” available in the I Brake for Stamps store.
I used to have a Cocker Spaniel named Buffie. She was our family dog when I was raising my children. She lived to a ripe old age of 13 years and we truly miss her. So when I saw this stamp in the store I had to have it. This stamp would make great custom background paper for a scrapbook LO for Buffie.

The DPs are from Basic Grey themed for cats and dogs so I thought this would make the perfect tag for that scrapbook page. The lace trim is from Michaels and the mesh is from HOTP. I added some cute puppy dog themed buttons and a dog tag to finish it off.
Here’s a couple of before and after haircut photos of Buffie going from winter into spring. She was my baby.

You can get this stamp and so many more at I Brake for Stamps online store. Use my coupon code SAVE10CATHY for 10% off your purchase.

My Mustangs

Hello, Friends. I don't have a card or project to post today but have been asked by friends and family members for photos of my new horses. I posted several on Facebook but neglected the fact that not all my friends and family are on Facebook.

So without further ado...Meet Duncan and Vegas.
Duncan is the chestnut on the left and Vegas is the bay on the right. Both are geldings and are very young. You can call them greenhorns or children, if you like, at riding but they learn very fast.
Duncan is 3 years old and was captured from the Salt Wells area near Rock Springs, Wyoming. He has a big motor and it doesn't take much to ask him to canter or gallop.
Vegas is 4 years old and was captured near Battle Mountain, Nevada. He is lovey and a ham for the camera. But I think he just wants to be the primary focus of my attention.

They are both in training with us and our awesome trainer, Robin Brown. She is so patient with us and knowledgeable about these gorgeous animals. She manages a horse ranch and polo team here in Colorado.

Hope you enjoyed the photos...

I Brake for Cowboy Boots

Hi, Braker Fans. Sorry I missed posting last week but it was a hectic one and I was on vacation too. Now I need a vacation after my vacation…LOL My DT card this week is all about my lifestyle lately. My DH and I adopted 2 Mustangs from the BLM a couple weeks ago and they were delivered last Thursday. I had so much shopping to do to get ready for them. We had to get tack, hay, a new gate for the corral, bedding, etc. I was so tired every night. Sorry to say though I hardly got a chance to sit in my craft studio all week which was part of my plan.

Anyhoo…on to my card. I used this sweet stamp called “Cowboy Boots” from the IBFS store and since I’m a country lover it’s a perfect stamp for me. I love my boots and hats and they are not always for looks, they are for working. They truly have a purpose if you live in the country.
I saw an adorable red cowboy hat at Murdoch’s in the children’s section and I thought it was the sweetest thing. So it inspired me to color my hat red. And I added a little Light Blue Viva Décor to the feather icon to make it look like a Turquoise stone.
I used Bazzill cardstock for my base and mating. My DPs are from My Mind’s Eye, Sunshine collection. I distressed around my image and DP panels with Walnut Stain and jute twine was wrapped around the card several times and tied in a bow. I finished it with a few Prima flowers and pearls.
These are the Copics I used to color my image.

Supplies:
Cardstock – Bazzill
Designer Papers – My Mind’s Eye
Distress Ink – Ranger
Pearls/Gems – Recollections; Viva Décor
Flowers – Prima

I'm entering this card in the Make It Monday - Linky Party challenge.

My card features the adorable “Diving Tilda” from the “You are a Winner” collection available at the Magnolia-licious Online Store.
This little darling is so cute and fun to make cards with. I colored Tilda in Copics, cut her out and mounted her on a Spellbinders Beaded Ovals die cut.
My cardstock is from Bazzill and The Paper Company. The festive red, white and blue DPs are from We R Memory Keepers. I added pearls around Tilda’s frame and a cute pennant for my USA title. My flowers are from WOC and satin ribbon bow is from Michaels.
The inside of my card has similar elements from the front with “You are a Winner” sentiment.
These are the Copics I used to color Tilda.

Cardstock – Bazzill; The Paper Company
DPs – We R Memory Keepers
Flowers – WOC
Dies/Punches – Spellbinders; Whimsy Stamps; Magnolia
