I Brake for Rubber Romance Divas

Hi, Braker Fans. I have a new card to share with you for my I Brake for Stamps DT project. I have moved to posting on Thursday instead of Tuesday. So I hope to see you here every week.
I Brake for Stamps has a new release of some really awesome stamps by Rubber Romance so I’ve used one of the Divas called “Robin the Dog Lover.” She is truly a Diva so I thought I would paper piece her gauchos and hat. Do you remember gauchos? If not, you are not as old as I am…LOL Basically, they are Capris with a flare at the bottom of the pant legs.
I’ve been into sewing and distressing lately so thought I would make a shabby chic card for Robin. My DPs are by MME the Indie Chic “Saffron” collection. These papers are so fun to craft with and have some cool patterns and colors. The collection also includes lots of cute buttons, trinkets and this darling sewn pennant so I had to add that. I made the lace ribbon with some tulle, seam binding and string pearls. It put the chic in my shabby card. Finally, I added some flowers and leaves and called it done.
I used a similar design for the inside of my card and it is ready for any sentiment.

I’m entering this card in the following challenges:

Make It Monday – Linky Party
Die Cuttin' Divas - Tic Tac Toe (Ribbon, Pearls, Shabby Chic)
Bunny Zoe Crafts - Distressing
Kaboodle Doodles - Stitching

DPs – My Mind’s Eye

You can get this stamp and so many others at I Brake for Stamps online store. Use my coupon code SAVE10CATHY for 10% off your purchase.

Midweek Magnolia - Distressed

Hello, Friends and Happy Hump Day! The Midweek Magnolias Design Team has a new challenge for you and this week our theme is “Distressed.” So easy, right? Hop over to Midweek Magnolias for some awesome inspiration from the DT and leave some love on their blogs. You’ll have a chance to win a fabulous mystery prize from Magnolia Sweden.
My card this week features “Scooter Tilda” which I’ve been dying to color; she's available at Magnolia-licious. I dressed her up in Autumn colored Copics and matching DPs from Deja Views.
My cardstock is from Bazzill and I distressed the DPs with my Tim Holtz distressing tool then added a brush of Vintage Photo Distress ink around the edges. I machine stitched all of my panels and cut a strip of muslin fabric stamped with my Magnolia leaf and acorn using SU’s Crumb Cake ink, frayed the edges and wrapped it with jute twine. Tilda’s scooter headlight got a coat of Glossy Accents for dimension and shine. My flowers and leaves are from Prima with buttons from my stash tied with jute and embossing thread. Finally, I finished it off with a Magnolia fence die cut distressed with Vintage Photo.
The inside of my card has distressed paper and stitched as well. I added a simple sentiment from my PC, stitched and matted on cardstock.

Supplies:
Stamps – Magnolia
Cardstock – Bazzill
DPs – Deja Views
Flowers & Leaves – Prima
Dies/Punches – Magnolia; EK Success
Buttons – HOTP
Muslin/Jute Twine – JoAnn’s; WestTrim Crafts
Embossing Thread – DMC

I’m entering this project in the following Challenges:

Color Me Creative – Falls Colors
Crafty Mess – Distressed/Aged
Pile It On – Fabric or Felt
Ladybug Crafts – Anything Goes

I hope my card inspires you to join us this week at Midweek Magnolias. Happy crafting…

Magnolia-licious September Photo Inspiration

Hello, Friends. I’m so glad you got a chance to stop by and see what I created for the Magnolia-licious Challenge. It’s time for our Photo Inspiration for September and our lovely team leader Candy chose this awesome photo. We want to see you use buttons on your card or project.
The design team has some spectacular inspiration for you HERE and we would love for you to join us.
If you enter a project in the challenge you could have a chance to win a Special Surprise from Magnolia-licious. Check out the store as Diana has a vast selection of Magnolia stamps, lots of fun cutting dies, designer papers, and other goodies. She even carries the Magnolia Ink Magazine which is one of my favorite places I go for inspiration.
My card features the adorable “Tilda with a Gift for You” from the Turning Leaves Collection. She's not available in the regular size in the store at this time but Diana reorders often so check back soon for this cutie.

Tilda is colored with Copics and I stamped some flourishes around her frame. Then I randomly added Liquid Pearls in White Opal.
My DPs are from Prima’s En Francais collection. I love the blue and brown color combos in this collection which happens to be one of my favs. The inspiration photo encouraged me to create a fabulous Magnolia heart die cut covered in buttons. I added some seam binding to the heart for even more texture and used a strip of it behind my lace but it doesn't show up very well in the photo.
For the inside of my card I stamped part of Tilda on the message panel. This would make a great Birthday card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Magnolia; Heidi Grace
Cardstock – American Crafts
DPs – En Francais, Prima
Flowers – WOC; Recollections; Rolled Roses, Marianne Designs
Dies – Magnolia; Marianne Designs
Ribbon – WOC seam binding
Lace: Simplicity
Pearls: Liquid Pearls, Ranger; Recollections

I’m entering this card in the following Challenges:

Make It Monday – Linky Party, Anything Goes
Tilda’s Town – I chose Fussy and Fancy
Crafty Catz – Buttons

Head over to Midweek Magnolias for some awesome inspiration from the DT and leave some love on their blogs. You’ll have a chance to win a fabulous mystery prize from Magnolia Sweden and I’m told they are fabulous.
My card features the adorable “Little Tilda” from the “Little Christmas Collection” available at Magnolia-licious. This was an easy card to make with a simple design, some die cuts, lace, ribbon and flowers.
My cardstock is from Bazzill and the DPs are from Magnolia and Cuddly Buddly. I colored Tilda with my Copics in the following colors.
Skin: E11, E01, E00, E000
Hair: E35, YR23, Y23
Apparel: B97, B95, B93, B91, C3, C1, C00

I gave Tilda’s dress some white polka dots with my Sharpie Extra Fine Poster Paint Pen and used my “C Series” Copics for shading them. Silver Stickles adorns Tilda’s bodice and skirt lace and Stardust Stickles on her wings. I distressed Tilda’s frame and the tag with Stormy Sky, Distress Ink for a little extra color and definition with a few pearls on the frame.
Finally, I added my flowers and used my “Sweet Christmas Dreams” stamp for my tag.
The inside of my card has similar elements from the front with a sentiment from Hero Arts.

I Brake for Halloween

Hi, Braker Fans. It’s Tuesday which means it’s time to show you my DT project for I Brake for Stamps. For my project this week I used a Halloween stamp from the store called “Halloween Scene.” This is just the right size stamp for a small treat bag filled with Halloween goodies.
I colored my image with Copics using some fall festive colors and attached it to a bag of candy corn and peanuts. Together they taste like a Salted Nut Roll candy bar. Yummy! These would make great party favors for the kids. I will be giving this one to my grandson, Ty.
I triple matted my image on Bazzill and The Paper Company cardstock using traditional Halloween colors. Then I attached it to the bag with Scor-Tape. It was as simple as that.

You can get this stamp and so many others at I Brake for Stamps online store. Use my coupon code SAVE10CATHY for 10% off your purchase.

See you next week…

Hugz,

Magnolia-licious Challenge - My Design Team Debut

Hello, Friends and Fellow Bloggers. I have some exciting news for you!!! I was invited to join the Magnolia-licious Design Team for the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. I can’t tell you how honored I felt when Diana sent me the invite. It’s like a dream come true.

So without further ado, Happy Magnolia-licious Challenge Day! The design team has some spectacular inspiration for you HERE and we would love for you to join us.

You could have a chance to win this $25 Gift Certificate if you participate by following the theme and rules.

This is the inspiration photo for our color challenge. The lovely wallpaper with pink flowers and green leaves inspired my color combo.

My card features the lovely "Tilda makes a Blueberry Blanket" from the Turning Leaves collection. This stamp is available HERE in the store. Diana has some of the best prices on Magnolia products plus you get 2% store credit with your purchase. The store has a vast selection of regular and mini size Magnolia stamps as well as cutting dies, papers and lots of other goodies. My personal favorite place to shop.
The designer papers I used for my Tilda cutie are from Kaiser Kraft. One of the papers has a large fancy frame so I used it as my card shape. I added some green wide webbed weave ribbon (say that 3 times fast…LOL) for texture. My die cuts are from Magnolia, Memory Box and Marianne Designs. I added some flowers from WOC and I am “in love” with these darling white Hellebores; you are sure see them on more of my projects. My pink sheer ribbon is from The Ribbon Spot and adorned with a pearl heart button from Michaels.
The inside of my card features some elements from the front and I created my sentiment on my PC.

Supplies:
Cardstock – Bazzill
DPs – Kaiser Kraft
Flowers – WOC
Dies – Magnolia; Memory Box; Marianne Designs
Ribbon – Stamp Simply Ribbon Store; The Ribbon Spot
Pearl Heart Button - Michaels

I’m entering this card in the following Challenges:

Make It Monday – Linky Party, Anything Goes
Simply Magnolia - Anything Goes
Just Magnolia - Anything Goes with an option

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now, for a little extra excitement…Drumroll please!
I made a pencil holder and calendar desk set that I am giving away as part of a Candy draw in celebration of my new DT position.
I made this Desk Set from the NEW Score, Fold and Create Scor-Pal Project Book carried by the Magnolia-licious Store. As a little twist to the design I added a block calendar on the side instead of the original design. In the book the desk set includes a little drawer set for things like post-it notes, paper clips and other small desk trinkets. So I used the instructions to create the base of my block calendar instead. I just love this book as I’m a paper engineer at heart and love creating 3D projects. This is the perfect book for me and it inspires me to create other projects that I may not have thought about before hence, the block calendar.
For this project I used Autumn Tilda with Pencils for the front of the pencil holder. I colored her with Copics and I also stamped her with Pink Memento ink which gives her a softer look. But I had to go back over some areas of the image with my brown Prisma pencil to add back a few details as they tend to get lost in the coloring process.
For the side of the pencil holder I used Editor Tilda with the same coloring process.
As an added bonus I’m throwing in a couple of Magnolia stamps as part of the Candy draw.
They are:
All you have to do for a chance to win is:
  1. Leave me a comment
  2. Post a photo of my Candy on your Blog with a link back to this post
I will be drawing the winner before the next Challenge date in two weeks and will make the announcement on Tuesday, September 25.
I hope I’ve inspired you to join us for the Magnolia-licious Challenge. Thanks for popping in to visit and good luck in the draw…
I Brake for Autumn Wishes
Hi, Braker Fans. It’s Tuesday which means it’s time to show you my DT project for I Brake for Stamps. For my card this week I used a cute digi stamp from the store called “Bear in Pumpkin.” Isn’t he cute?
My gorgeous Autumn DPs are from BoBunny and cardstock is Bazzill. I colored my image with Copics and used Walnut stain to distress around the frame while it was still in die cut. This leaves a nice white edge on the outside of the frame.
My sunflowers are Magnolia stamps and I put brown flock in the middle for some texture. Then I added a few festive ribbons fragments from my scrap stash and corner die cuts. The sentiment was printed from my PC on a Whimsy Stamps ticket stamp.
Supplies:
Stamps – IBFS, Magnolia, Whimsy Stamps
Cardstock – Bazzill
Designer Papers - BoBunny
Distress Ink – Ranger
Ribbon – American Crafts; Michaels
Die Cuts – Spellbinders; SCACD
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Make It Monday - Linky Party, Anything Goes
