Warmest Winter Wishes

Hello Friends! It was really cold yesterday with a snowfall of about 7 inches here along the front range of the Rockies. Today the temps were back in the 60s and most of the snow is gone. That’s good news as DH and I are traveling to Omaha, Nebraska this weekend for my cousin’s wedding. He and his bride are getting married on Halloween…LOL A bit extraordinary but knowing my cousin that fits his personality. All of the guests must attend in Halloween costume and since some of my family reads my blog, I can’t say how we will dress.

Now on to the best part of my post!!! LOL I made this card with a new Maggie stamp, “Winter Tilda.” She is just adorable and I love coloring these images.
My DPs are from SEI’s new Christmas collection “Silver Valley.” These are beautiful papers! Which reminds me, for a chance to win a full 12x12 paper pack of Silver Valley (and other goodies) check my sidebar for my Blog-iversary candy.

I also used one of my favorite papers from “The Paper Company” frosted Silver cardstock. I always use these for my Christmas Cards and they come in lots of colors. I think they are so festive for the season. I dry embossed some snowflakes for Tilda’s background with a brass stencil for random dots of snow. The gorgeous lace, silver metal corners and flowers are from WOC.
I colored Tilda with Copics and added Polar White Flowersoft to the hat pompoms and used the Silver cardstock for the main part of her hat and hand muffs. Her boots got a coat of Glossy accents and the buttons on her coat got Silver Stickles.
I repeated some elements of the card front on the inside with a sentiment from Hero Arts stamps.
These are the Copics I used to color Tilda.

I’m entering this card in the following Challenges:

Paper Sundaes – 2 of (Black, Sparkle, Flowers & Distressing)
TOMIC – Bingo (Metal, Lace & Doo Hickeys)

Go Team!!!

Good evening, Friends. My DH and I have been getting ready for the cold winter weather here on our ranch in Colorado. Today we finally got the Duck/Goose house anchored in its permanent home by the pond. Hubby is awesome at building things from scratch and he did a wonderful job! All that is left to do is put shingles on it and the birds will be happy and warm when it snows which BTW, may be this coming Wednesday. I got 30 Tulip bulbs planted around my garden but I have lots left so will I'll find someplace to put them tomorrow while we have nice weather.

GO TEAM!!!
I made this cute little card this afternoon. Of course I already had the idea in my head during the week and I always make notes as I design, that way I don’t forget anything. Lately that’s everyday which comes with old age. LOL
I got Cheerleader Tilda from the Magnolia Stamp Club and have been aching to use her. The DPs are from PTI, cardstock is from Bazzill and The Paper Company. My flowers are from WOC, Prima and Recollections. I sprayed the graphite colored flowers with a mix of Black Soot Distress ink, water and pearl white Perfect Pearls.
The Heart Swirl die cut is new from the Magnolia-licious store and trimmed to fit around the flowers. I colored Tilda with Copics and cut her out with a border and matted on black cardstock.
I’m entering this card in the following Challenges:

Puppy Love

Hello Friends. I hope your week is going well so far. It is very cold here; we had a hard freeze last night. The lawn and pasture was covered with frost this morning. I don’t know how my ducks and geese survive in this cold sometimes because they spend the whole night in the pond. What the heck is that all about...LOL I’m sure the water is warmer than the air and it’s the safest place in case the coyotes get any ideas, if you know what I mean.

This is my “Puppy Love” card. I just got “Wilma with Rose” a couple weeks ago and finally got around to making a card with her. She is so cute and reminds me of my late Cocker Spaniel, Buffie.
The DPs are from Basic Grey, Oliver collection. I distressed most of the edges and inked them with Peeled Paint Distress ink. The lace is from WOC and the ribbon is from my stash of scraps. My roses are from Making Memories and layered over Prima flowers.
I colored Wilma with Copics then die cut her with my Sizzix distress frame and sponged a layer of Peeled Paint around the frame.
I’m entering this card in the following Challenges:

Just Magnolia – Distressing
MDUC – Sketch
Magnolia-licious Challenge – Color (Green, Blue & White or Clear)

Haunted House

Hello Friends! We had such an awesome weekend here in CO!!! It was 83 degrees on Saturday so my DH and I went for a Harley ride along the mountain range. There will not be many days like that now that Fall is upon us.

“Haunted House”
I’ve been working on this project throughout the week and it has finally come to fruition. This is my “Haunted House” which I will be taking to my grandchildren in Omaha during the Halloween Holiday. DH and I will be traveling to Nebraska for a family wedding and I know my grandkids will love this.
The house is a DIY from Doodlebug Designs which I’ve had for a couple years and decided to use it for my project. Most of the embellishments are from Martha Stewart Halloween collection and the DPs are from Doodlebug Designs as well. I used every Magnolia stamp from my collection that had a Halloween theme or came close to it to create my scene.

Scream...It's Halloween!

Hi Friends! The weekend sure flew by quick. We got 3 inches of snow here on the front range Saturday but it was all gone by noon on Sunday. It sure doesn’t stick around at this time of year. It will be back in the 70s this week for our average temps in the Fall.

My card I’m sharing with you today is for several challenges that have a Fall or Halloween theme. I used little “Witch Tilda” as my focal point and colored her with Copics. My DPs are from Doodle Bug Designs and Bo Bunny. I just love these papers, very Halloween festive.
My pumpkin stamp is from Paper Studio and the black cat is Making Memories. I stamped two pumpkins masking off the foreground. For the cat stamp, I heat embossed it with black embossing powder and cut it out. I authored the sentiment myself and used my Lettering Delights Harry (Harry Potter) font to go with the “witch” theme.
I die cut my Magnolia fence from both black and orange cardstock and adhered them together off centered to give it a dimensional effect. The flowers are from Prima with Perfect Pearls centers and crumpled Raffia under the pumpkins. I finished it off with some jute twine for a bow and a bit of Glossy Accents for Tilda’s boots and hat.
Here is the inside of my card with the rest of the sentiment.
And these are the Copics I used to color Tilda and the pumpkins.

I’m entering this card in the following Challenges:

Cupcake Anytime

Happy Saturday! Winter has hit the Colorado Mountains and we are getting a lot of snow today. Our power was out this morning so my DH did his job and built a fire in the fireplace. So wonderful to have when the cold weather hits.

I made this card last week just for fun while experimenting with some embossing techniques and Distress ink coloring.
I stamped some swirls over a sheet of pattern paper that I actually didn’t care for then heat embossed with clear embossing powder to let some of the light green paper show through. Then I sponged Peeled Paint and Dusty Concord here and there for a resist effect and wiped off the excess. I  love with this technique and used it many times but not on pattern paper. I think it turned out quite well and adds a personal touch to my card. I also heat embossed purple embossing powder with a clock face background stamp over my yellow pattern paper to go with my sentiment. Both of these stamps are from Hero Arts.
I used this sweet Belles n' Whistles “Cupcake” stamp and colored her with Distress Inks. The DPs are Basic Grey from " Wisteria" and my flowers are WOC with a brush of Distress ink as well.

I’m entering this card in the following Challenges:

Crafty Cardmakers – Anything Goes
Paper Sundaes – Lots of Layers
Craft Your Passion – Anything Goes, ribbon option
Heart Song Inspirations – Anything Goes
Make It Monday – Anything Goes

I hope you enjoyed my card. Thanks for stopping by.

Prom Queen Tilda

Good evening, Friends! The weekend is just about over. I’m not really looking forward to going back to work tomorrow but I enjoyed the weekend. I spent most of it in my craft room since Hubby is in the Black Rock desert flying rockets. He’s such a nerd, (rocket scientist) but a happy one nonetheless... LOL

This card is a little more fancy than I usually make but I couldn’t get the idea out of my head, so as the saying goes, “just go with it.”

I used Prom Queen Tilda for my card and the poem was perfect which I found in my little book of “The Write Words.” It has lots of quotes and poetry that are just the perfect touch for cards and scrapbooks.

I’m entering this card in the following challenges:

CMC Challenge – Distressed Technique w/ Copics
Crafts and Me – Flowers
MDUC – Pink, White and Gold
ABC Challenge – Anything Goes
Creative Card Crew – Easel Card
Just Magnolia – Sketch Challenge

I’m not going to share any of my supplies this time because I’d probably be here all night. My dogs, ducks and geese are all in bed and it is time for me to head in that direction.

Thanks for taking a look and leave me a comment if you would please. ‘Til next time…

Hello Friends! I have another short post to share with you.

DPs - Basic Grey
Cardstock – Various from my stash
Flowers – WOC & Recollections; some sprayed with DIY Glimmer spray to match the color theme
Ribbon – American Crafts
Swirl Die Cut – Sizzix
Pearls - Recollections

I’m entering this card in the following Challenges.

Simon Says Stamp – Anything Goes
Rainbow Lady’s – Autumn/Fall Flowers
