Happy New Year!

Hi Friends…My DH and I are spending a quiet evening at home during New Year’s eve. We will watch a favorite movie and have a toast while the New Year’s ball drops in New York City. So here is my Happy New Year’s card to all my wonderful friends and followers.
I used one of my favorite Tilda stamps for this card. She is delivering a basket of goodies and a bottle of wine for the festive season. My DPs are from the Magnolia Christmas collection and cardstock is from my stash. I embellished with a pearl spray from Hobby Lobby, flowers and Ivory seam binding from WOC and a little Diamond Stickles on the flower.
The die cuts are from Magnolia and Marianne Design. The circle sentiment is a stamp I created in Photoshop. I colored Tilda with Distress Inks this time and realized how much I miss and enjoy painting. But I am still a Copic-a-holic at heart.

The Distress Ink colors I used: Tea Dye, Tattered Rose, Walnut Stain, Frayed Burlap, Antique Linen, Dusty Concord, Aged Mahogany, Mustard Seed and Black Soot.

I’m entering this card in the following Challenges:

TOMIC – Happy New Year
Magnolia Stamp Lovers – Winter (Snowflake DPs)
Crafts and Me – Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp – Anything Goes

Have a Safe and Happy New Year…

Tilda Baking

Hi Friends…I have a short post today as I am catching up on making some non-holiday cards and entering some challenges. I will have more this week as I am on vacation and just love this quiet downtime to myself. Crafting is so relaxing for me.
This one I made specifically for the BookEndz Challenge over at the CMC Classroom. The project has to be something portrayed from the book that we read. The book this month was “An Invisible Thread” and it was awesome. A very heartwarming true story about an “unusual friendship between two different people” as quoted by Maurice Mazyck in the book.
I used my sweet Tilda Baking stamp for my focal point. Baking chocolate chip cookies happened rather often in the book. My DPs are from DCWV, Nana’s Nursery and the cardstock is from my stash.
Other elements include:
Flowers – WOC
Dies – Marianne Design and Memory Box
Ribbon – American Crafts
These are the Copics I used to color my image.

I’m entering this card in the following Challenges:

CMC BookEndz – An Invisible Thread
Make it Monday – Anything Goes
Bearly Mine Challenges - Anything Goes

Thanks for looking…

Holiday Havoc 2011 Blog Hop!

Hello, Friends and Happy Holidays! Beginning today we are celebrating "Holiday Havoc 2011" Blog Hop at Craft Your Passion Challenges!!!

If you hopped over from Christine, then you are in the right place. If you just happened to stop by and would like to join us in the hop from the beginning, start at Craft Your Passion Challenges and follow along for a chance to win some AMAZING blog candy along the way and PRIZES at the end.

All Craft Your Passion DT members are going to be playing along in the hop with some very special guest designers.

Each designer on the hop is featuring a project that showcases a digital image from one of our amazing Blog Hop Sponsors. What’s more exciting is you can participate by creating a project and linking it up over at Craft Your Passion Challenges for a chance to win one of several prizes.

But, there’s a twist. Be sure to visit all the stops and leave a comment (we will be checking). Once you have finished the hop, we would like you to create a Holiday project using at least one digital stamp and enter it into our Linky tool.

While you’re hopping, be sure to check out the blog candy that the DT members have to offer you. You don't want to miss out on any of it!

Now, to celebrate the Hop I have two projects to share with you to get those creative juices flowing.

My first project is a charming card that I made with an image from Paper Shelter called “Getting Ready for Christmas.”

I adore this whimsical digi stamp of Santa’s clothes hanging on the line after being laundered by Mrs. Claus…LOL After all, Santa’s suit has to be fresh and clean for his big night out.
I printed it on Copic X-Press It Blending Card paper and cut it to my favorite 5½ inch square card size. Then I colored my image with Copics, scored a frame around the edge of the card with my Scor-Pal and added Stardust Stickles to the fur of Santa's suit. I adhered die cut snowflakes and stars around the image from a winter Cuttlebug die for a faux dry embossed effect. I finished it off with satin ribbon from the Ribbon Spot and a Santa Hat brad and mini bells from HOTP.
For the inside of my card I heat embossed a Hero Arts sentiment with red embossing powder.

I'm entering this card in the Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge and the theme is "Santa's Hat."
For my second project I used a sweet image from Crafty Sentiments called Herbie the Bear.
I made gift tags that can also be used as Christmas tree ornaments.
I colored my bears with Copics and cut them out. Then I die cut Spellbinders Beaded Ovals from SU Christmas pattern paper and white cardstock. I added Viva DĂ©cor Pearls around the ovals of the pattern paper and adhered my bears. The white cardstock ovals were stamped with SEI to/from stamps from the Glitzmas collection. Then I glued WOC eyelet lace trim between the two ovals with Scor-Tape and added green and red shinny cord.
Now they are ready to be attached to gifts or hung on the tree.

As a sweet treat to all my wonderful blog friends and followers I am offering a chance to win a $20 e-gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp. So make sure you leave a comment to be entered into the drawing. I will draw a random winner on December 26th so stop by for the announcement thereafter.

Your next stop on the hop is the lovely and talented Amy so check out to see what she has made for the hop celebration.

Remember, once you hopped to all the stops and left your comments (we will be checking), it's your turn to show us your "Holiday Havoc" project.

Make sure to include a digital stamp somewhere on your project, and link up your project over at Craft Your Passion Challenges by Midnight CST, December 23rd to be eligible for the prizes. Winners will be announced on our Monday, December 26th Challenge post.

Happy Holidays and most of all, have fun Hopping!!!

Wrapped and Unwrapped Mini Tilda

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday! We are back from our cruise and we had a great time. We visited the Chacchoben Mayan ruins in Costa Maya and went snorkeling in Cozumel. This was our first trip to Mexico and we had some nice warm weather. It felt good to get away for a week and we missed the below zero temps here in Colorado while we were gone. How lucky is that!

By the way, I thought I would take this moment to remind you all that Craft Your Passion Challenges is celebrating our Holiday Havoc Blog Hop this Friday so don’t forget to stop by and join in the fun. There will be chances to win prizes and I will have candy up for grabs as well.

“Wrapped and Unwrapped Mini Tilda”
I finally got my project done that was inspired by Magnolia-licious Highlites “Wrapped Up Holiday Contest.” I envisioned something a little more extravagant but settled on a simple wreath ornament featuring both Wrapped and Unwrapped Mini Tilda stamps.
The wreaths were cut with my Cricut from Joys of the Season and layered with multi colored green cardstock. I colored my mini Tildas with Copics then used a little gold Stickles on each.
I adhered the back of each image with strong thread so that they dangle in the middle of the wreath. I completed them with a bow and some red pearls.
They were very easy to make which is probably a good thing as I have been very busy since returning home from vacation.

I’m entering this project in the following Challenges:

Magnolia-licious Highlites - Wrapped Up Holiday Contest
Pixie Cottage – Anything Goes Christmas Style
Crafts & Me – Christmas
Creative Card Crew – Tis the Season
TOMIC – Christmas Decoration

Thanks for stopping by...

"Tag You're It" - Craft Your Passion Challenge

Hello Friends, I hope you had a great weekend. It’s Monday which means we have a new Challenge up at Craft Your Passion and this week our theme is “Tag Your It.” So come on over and join us for a chance to win a prize from our sponsor Stretch and Bubbles.
For my card this week I’m using the sweet digi image “Dorothy.” I made a free standing pop-up card with DP from Crate Paper and cardstock from my stash. I made some Flowersoft flowers using Summer multi-colored Flowersoft and used my BG Copic to add some of the Teal color to the flowers. The ribbon is from my scrap stash and the sentiment tag was cut from my Spellbinders Beaded Ovals die then outlined with Viva DĂ©cor Turquoise Pearl Pen. I finished it off with ribbon on top of the tag and added a Say it in Studs pearl embellishment from Prima.
Here’s what the card looks like closed for mailing.
These are the Copics I used to color my image.

“Anything Goes plus Glitter” at Craft Your Passion

Hello Friends, I hope you had a great weekend. As you read this post I will be in Tampa, Florida preparing to embark on a Royal Caribbean cruise. DH and I are going with 2 of my 3 sisters and our hubbies. It should be a great time and I hope to return with lots of photos to share.

It’s Monday of course, which means we have a new challenge up at Craft Your Passion and this week our theme is “Anything Goes plus Glitter.”
My card features a sweet image called “Let’s Go Sledding” by Artish available at The Pixie Cottage who is one of our sponsors this week. My DPs are from SEI’s Silver Valley collection and the cardstock is from HOTP. I triple matted and stitched the DPs for extra texture and die cut my Spellbinders Fleur de Lis (I'm in love with this die!) and stitched around the inside edge as well.
The spruce tree die cuts are from Magnolia and decorated with a little Snow Writer and Stardust Stickles on top. The snowflakes are from my MS Scandinavian Snowflake punch layered and coated with Stardust Stickles and topped with a white rose from WOC. I colored my snowman with Copics; his scarf and hat got a coat of Smooch Illuminate and again Stardust Stickles...LOL I added some Polar White Flower Soft for snow in front of the sled and finished the card with a few Zva Creative rhinestones.
I repeated the elements from the front of the card on the inside along with a sentiment from a Hero Arts stamp.
These are the Copics I used to color my image.

Stop over at Craft Your Passion and check out the challenge and the wonderful DT’s creations.

'Tis the Season at Craft Your Passion

Hello Friends, I hope you had a great weekend. It’s Monday which means we have a new Challenge up for you at Craft Your Passion and this week our theme is “Tis the Season.” So break out those festive holiday stamps and digis and join us for a chance to win a prize from our sponsor Simply Betty Stamps.
For my card this week I’m using the “Betty and Rudolph” digi. This was such a fun image to color. I made a simple gate fold card with DPs from Theresa Collins Christmas Time collection and gold metallic cardstock from DCWV.
The edge punch is from EK Success with red ribbon by Ofray and tied in a bow to close the card. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I colored Betty’s little goth skeletons (so cute) with my silver Copic Spica. Rudolph’s nose and the bow on the gift got a coat of Glossy Accents.
For the inside of my card I authored a simple sentiment and framed it with my Spellbinders Square Fleur de Lis die by nesting the two largest size dies.
These are the Copics I used to color my image.
Stop over at Craft Your Passion and check out the challenge along with the wonderful DT’s creations.

Birthday Cards for Sisters

Hello Friends and Happy Sunday! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Ours was quiet which was kinda nice for a change. Last year my DH and I spent Thanksgiving with my mother, sisters and their families and my kids and grandkids. We traveled to my home town in Illinois and had a grand time. Of course it didn’t occur to me that they had also planned to ROAST me at a surprise 50th Birthday party. I was trying to ignore the fact that I was turning 50. But it was so fun.

This year my 2 oldest sisters and I are going on a cruise with our hubbies. It is just a week away and I can’t wait. So I thought I would share the birthday cards I made for my darling siblings with you. We all celebrate our birthdays in November and 2 of us occasionally celebrate on Thanksgiving day. Hopefully they will be too busy getting ready for the cruise to read my blog and peek at their cards…LOL

“Stella”
I’ve been enjoying these whimsy Bugaboo “Stella” digi stamps. I practically roll on the floor laughing. So I hope to get a chuckle out of my sisters.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and have a look. Check back tomorrow morning as I'll have another post for our weekly “Craft Your Passion Challenge.” Have a great evening…
