Midweek Magnolias - Midway Reminder

Hello, Friends! This is my post for the Midway Reminder for Midweek Magnolias – Fancy Folds challenge going on until next Tuesday. So you have a whole week to make something with Fancy Folds and enter for a chance to win a Mystery Prize from Magnolia Sweden.

My Fancy Fold is actually on the inside of the card. I decided to make a 3 step card.

The front features “Playing on the beach Tilda” from the NEW Sea Breeze collection which is available in the Magnolia-licious store. I colored Tilda with Copics and also colored an ocean beach background. I need a little more practice at freehand of ocean water as you might tell. But it’s good enough for my card. I used the rope knot stamp from the Fish Kit over one of my designer papers from Maja Designs. I thought it could use a little enhancement to go with my theme.

The inside features “Salute Tilda,” the “Sea Shell Kit,” and “It’s Summer Time” sentiment also from the Sea Breeze collection

Here’s a close up of Tildas.

I hope my card inspires you to join us with Fancy Folds of your own at Midweek Magnolias. Have a great week.

Wee Wednesday - Love Trip

Happy Wednesday, Friends! It’s time for another Wee Wednesday. Eulanda and I are hosting this week's Wee Wednesday so don’t forget to stop by the Magnolia-licious challenge blog to see what she made. We also have a new challenge up as of yesterday and it's an easy Anything Goes. So, I hope you join us 'cuz it is open until August 13th. Lots of time to make a card or crafty project with a chance to win a prize from Diana's store.

My card today features a sweet Wee Stamp called, Love Trip. Such an adorable stamp and I used some of my designer papers for the balloon. The papers are from Echo Park called This & That by Lori Whitlock. I added some brad elements from this collection to my card as well. I love Lori’s designs including her Silhouette cutting files.

I colored my image with Copics and added in some clouds and blue skies. I kept my card very simple with some flowers from WOC and lace by Martha Stewart.

Here’s a close up of my image.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope the rest of your week goes fast and you look forward to your weekend.

Anything Goes at Magnolia-licious

Hello, Friends. The Magnolia-licious design team has a new challenge for you this Tuesday and it is the easiest of all challenges…

ANYTHING GOES!

My card features “Tilda with Spritz Pocket” from the 2013 Special Moments collection. She is just the cutest little girl. I colored her with Copics; put a little Glamour Dust on her dress lace, pocket and socks for bit of sparkle. I also masked her with an old Hero Arts stamp called Distressed Frame embossed with Aged Rose Fran-tage. The papers are from Maja Designs along with Bazzill card stock.

The paper lace on my middle panel is an EK Success edge punch. My flowers are from Petaloo with a few Marianne Designs rolled roses embossed with the Aged Rose Fran-tage and Recollections pearls in the center. Then I added soft pink pompom trim from The Ribbon Girl.

The Wrapped Heart Tag die cut is from Magnolia dressed with Vintage seam binding from WOC and a darling charm by Prima.

Here’s a close up of Tilda.

There are new items in the Magnolia-licious store.  Diana has lots of new Memory Box dies (including lots of fun Christmas shapes) and she is now carrying a new line of stamps from Wild Rose Studio. Buttons & Bows at Midweek Magnolias

Hello, Friends! Welcome back to a new challenge at Midweek Magnolias. This fortnight our theme is…

Buttons and Bows

I just got my Sweden kit a few days ago so had to start coloring and decided to use this sweet little bathing beauty from the new summer kit.

I colored Tilda with Copics, added a little sand coloring under her using the E50 series and Bronze Fran-tage around her frame. I used some lovely Pion papers, distressed them with my Tim Holtz tool and inked with Frayed Burlap.

My gold buttons are from JoAnn’s with the loop backs cut off. The corner flourish is chip board from Blue Fern Studios and covered with Bronze Fran-tage. The lace I got from LLC and I added flowers from Magnolia, Kort & Godt, and WOC. I finished the card with a satin bow from Michaels and a few Magnolia die cuts.

Here’s a close up of Tilda on the beach.

I'm entering my card in the following chllanges:

I hope my card inspired you to join us with buttons and bows of your own at Midweek Magnolias. Have a great week.

Some Like it HOT!!!

Hello, Friends. I hope you all had a great July 4th Holiday and if you had an extended weekend like me you celebrated Independence Day with style. Of course, here in Colorado we have a burn ban due to all the wild fires in the area and did not have any fireworks. However, we celebrated by taking the horses to Dawson Butte and rode a 5 mile trail around the mountain. Beautiful views and the horses absolutely loved it.

The Magnolia-licious Design Team has a new challenge for you this fortnight and our theme is…

Some like it HOT!

So anything that tickles your fancy with something hot will work for the challenge.

I chose to make a summer card with “Edwin in Miami” from the 2012 Summer Memories collection. I love this Magnolia image and didn’t get to use him last year so I decided to make a masculine card. I colored him with Copics and sprinkled Vintage Aqua Frantage around his frame. My cardstock is Bazzill and the papers are from Maja Designs Life by the Sea collection. This collection is perfect for these stamps.

I cut several Magnolia Pennant dies cuts from the papers and inked them with Navy ink from SU and tied with jute twine. The seaside charms are from LLC and I added a nylon string from an old drawstring bag I found around the house and tied it with Flemish Bend knots on each end to hold the charms. The jute twine mesh is from Mon Ami Gabby. I finished the card with several seashells from my stash.

Here’s a close up of Edwin. He is just too cute.

There are new items in the Magnolia-licious store I must tell you about. Diana has lots of new Memory Box dies (including lots of fun Christmas shapes everything is marked NEW.) And she is now carrying a new line of stamps from Wild Rose Studio. They are so adorable; you must check them out. They are available for pre-order and are discounted 13%. You gotta love that!!!

Don’t forget to leave a comment on any of the DT blogs and/or the Challenge blog for a chance to win a weekly prize. The winner is announced every week during Wee Wednesday.

Wish you were here...

Hello, Friends! We are back with a new challenge for you at Midweek Magnolias. This week our theme is…

Wish you were here
a Seaside Theme

My card for the challenge features more of an ocean scene. I've had this design in my card making journal since last year and I finally made it. My card stock is Bazzill and the Paper Co. with a Bo Bunny background paper.

The Magnolias I used are Pearl Tilda, Largo the Dolphin, Oyster with Pearl, and Memory Shells. I also used several Marianne Designs die cuts for the sea plants and anchor. The coral stamp is from I Brake for Stamps and heat embossed with coral colored embossing powder from Ranger. I also heat embossed my Memory Shells and the Oyster with Pearl with Vintage Ivory Frantage to give them little gold specks on the image. Then I used a color resist technique on them with ink from SU.

The Oyster with Pearl has Glamour Dust on the inside of the shell. Most of my elements got a coat of Glamour Dust or Stardust stickles for sparkle. Tilda was colored with Copics and I used Viva Décor pearls for the bubbles in her hair.

Here's a shot of the entire Easel Step card.

We would love for you to join us for the challenge this week and don't forget to stop over at the DT's blogs for inspiration.

Birthday Baby Girl - Magnolia-licious & Wee Stamps

Hello, Friends. Happy Wednesday!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and you're looking forward to the next one.

My husband, DSIL (Shane), and I loaded 188 bales of Hay for our horses yesterday. My lovely daughter, Abi drove the truck and trailer on Monday, I drove on Tuesday. I am so tired and glad we have about 22 months of Hay for our horses, Dallas & Duncan. Dallas is an AQHA Red Roan and loves his new hay that we bought from our neighbor's farm. As a test to see if they would eat the Brome Hay, our neighbor gave us a bale to see if they'd like it. They are normally Timothy/Alfalfa Hay fed horses. We set the bale at the end of the horse's paddock and Dallas came in from the pastor for a drink and found the new hay. He started eating and preferred it over fresh pastor grass. Now, that is some good hay… Duncan followed suit of course as Dallas is never out of his sight. Such entertaining animals they are.

It's time for another Wee Wednesday. There are so many adorable stamps in the Magnolia-licious & Wee Stamps store. I also have an announcement of my candy winner so, please read to the end.

My project this week features a cute and adorable stamp called "Birthday Baby Girl" by Sylvia Zet, designer of Wee Stamps. I created a birthday gift bag for this project. I think she is so adorable and very easy to color. This is perfect for that 1st year birthday card stamp or gift bag as I have done for that sweet little girl. I used some pretty stickled butterfly die cuts by Marianne Designs and Memory Box, papers from DCWV and ribbon roses from my stash. Not to mention, my favorite embellishments this week, Magnolia Doo Bee Pops. I made balloons for this cute bag in different colors with baker's twine from Doodle Bug Designs and an American Crafts ribbon tied in a bow, to hold them. I finished it with a sentiment I created on my PC with a Spellbinders fancy label die cut.

Here's a close-up of Birthday Baby Girl.
